Plastische, Reconstructieve, en Esthetische chirurgie is een medisch vakgebied met een draagwijdte die reikt van correcties van aangeboren afwijkingen, reconstructies na ongevallen of kanker, alswel esthetische ingrepen met als doel harmonische proporties te scheppen.

Reconstructies en esthetiek gaan hand in hand, een funktionele reconstructie wordt niet door de patient geacccepteerd, indien deze niet esthetisch aanvaardbaar is. Omgekeerd is ervaring opgedaan tijdens reconstructies een zeer waardevolle bron bij het uitvoeren van hooggekwalificeerde esthetische correcties.

Binnen dit kader zullen op deze website zowel aspecten van reconstructieve als esthetische chirurgie aan de orde komen. Deze informatie kan gebruik worden zowel als voorbereiding van een eventueel consult of als opfrissing van hetgeen tijdens een consult werd besproken.
De informatie dient uiteraard enkel als globale leidraad, een geïndividualiseerde benadering kan uitsluitend via een persoonlijke consultatie gegeven worden.

Uw plastisch chirurg

Dr. Nadja Sinsel studeerde Cum Laude af als arts aan de Universiteit Maastricht.
Tijdens haar geneeskundige opleiding was zij euregionaal werkzaam in het vakgebied Plastische en Reconstructieve Heelkunde aan het Academisch Ziekenhuis van Leuven (België), het Academisch Ziekenhuis van Maastricht (Nederland), alswel het Universitaire Klinikum te Aken (Duitsland).
Haar specialisatie opleiding in het Vakgebied Plastische, Reconstructieve, en Esthetische Chirurgie volgde zij aan het Universitair ziekenhuis van Leuven. Tezelfdertijd promoveerde zij middels een doctoraat aan de Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven over groeistoornissen bij N. facialis paralyse. In 1997 behaalde zij de befaamde prijs van de Europese Vereniging voor Plastische Chirurgie (EURAPS). De Belgische Vereniging bekroonde eveneens haar werk in 2002.
Zij nam deel aan talrijke internationele congressen, gaf diverse internationale voordrachten, en publiceerde herhaaldelijk in het internationale referentie tijdschrift voor Plastische en reconstructieve chirurgie: The American Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Zij bekwaamde zich met name in reconstructies van zenuwletsels en aangeboren weke delen afwijkingen, alswel klassieke esthetische chirurgie.
